Owls- Regroup

1.  Explain what it means to regroup in an addition problem.  What models can we use to show regrouping?

2.  Do you think being able to regroup is important for subtraction too?  Why?

  1. 1.This is how you regroup. You take take the ones and add them and see what the anser is.then you add the tens and see what the anser is that is how you regroup.2.Yes you have to regroup to see what your anser is. gz

  2. well lets say that we had 23+56=? and you couldn't figer it out. What would you do? Well what I would
do is.I would take my tens and put them together in this prolprum 2 and 6 2+6=8.So it's promome in the 80's . so now we are going to so it = 89 . -clb

  3. 1.How to regroup is when in the ones place if the number is ten or more you carry ten ones to the tens place or if you have ten tens you move it to the hundreds place.2.It is important to regroup in subtration beacause it wouyld take a longer way but if you did regroup in subtration you would get the anser so fast. 4. So if you had the problem 9+4 you would have to regroup. You would take one from 4 and then your new problem would be 10+3=13. That is an exanple on how you can regroup.

I think that regrouping is also inportant for subtracion too. I do not know how you regroup with subtracion. If you can regroup with addtion you could probley regroup with subtration. It could sometimes be very inportant.
