You need to add 238 + 463. Choose one of the following strategies to use and explain the step by step directions for solving it using the strategy you chose.

4. Use the Traditional Algorithm
After you've commented, try some 3 digit adding on IXL.
I would do Base Ten Blocks. First draw your first model which is 238. Next you would draw your second model which is 463. Then you might need to regroup so add your ones first, then your tens, then your hundreds, and maybe thousands. Last you add them up and you figure out your answer! I'm going to do 238+463= using algorithum. First, you have to add 8+3=,the answer is 11. You have to regroup so only the 1 can be leftover. Now you have to add the tens place. A one is supposed above the tens because you regrouped in KW

First,you draw hundreds tens and ones with this number you draw... 2 hundreds 3 ten and 8 ones then you draw a plus sign to show your adding.Now you draw 4 hundreds 6 tens 3 ones now you take your ones and add them. in this it would look this one... ones 11 and you would do that with yor tens and with your hundreds.For this you also need to regroup with this you take your 11 ones take your ten out of that and change it into a one. = 701 -clb
