Make the Number

Show at least 5 ways to make the number:
 16

Think of money, tallies, place value blocks, adding, subtraction, multiplying, story problems, etc.

  1. 1. You could use $10 and then $5 and then a $1 bill with money
    2. You could use place value. 1 rod and 6 ones. That equals 16.
    3.You could do tallies. Do five. Then another five and one more plus 1 other tally.
    4.You could do 20-4=16
    5.You could do count back. Start from the closet ten which is 20. Then count back to 16. How long did it take? Only 4 times.
